Gianna’s New Furry Friend

Gianna, who has cerebral palsy and level 3 severe autism, is so excited to welcome her new puppy, Coco, an emotional support dog, into her home!

Thank you from Gianna’s Family

“We picked up Gianna’s dog, Coco, yesterday. She is so excited to finally have her new puppy home with her. I will be getting her trained to be an emotional support dog when the time is right. I just want to give a heartfelt thank you to the Sunshine Foundation and the generous donors for putting a smile on my daughter’s face. I am so grateful that Sunshine Foundation chose my daughter to give her a special dream gift. God bless you all.” – Sincerely, Gianna’s mom, Gina.

Gianna’s Diagnosis

Gianna is diagnosed with cerebral palsy and level 3 severe autism. Cerebral palsy “is the most common motor disability in childhood,” according to the CDC. It’s a number of neurological disorders that’s caused by damage to the developing brain before birth. Cerebral palsy impacts movement, balance, posture, and muscle control. Level 3 severe autism, also known as severe autism, is the most significant level of autism spectrum disorder. Children with level 3 autism have limited or no speech, restricted social communication skills, and sensory processing issues. They require a higher level of support and supervision throughout their lifetime.
