Liam’s Disney Dream Trip
Liam, with hydrocephalus, epilepsy, infantile spasms, and global delay, finally got to meet his one true love, Mickey Mouse at Disney World thanks to Sunshine Foundation and generous sponsors.
Thank you from Liam’s Family
“What you all gave to Liam and our family with a week in Disney, the most magical place on Earth, are memories that will last us a lifetime. Since Liam was a baby, Mickey Mouse has been his one true love. To watch his face light up when he saw the characters and the excitement that exuded him when we rode all the roller coasters was everything my husband and I could ask for. Our whole family enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime trip! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. The pictures will speak for themselves!” – Liam’s Mom, Amanda.
What is Hydrocephalus?
The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke defines hydrocephalus as “an abnormal buildup of fluid in the ventricles (cavities) deep within the brain. This excess fluid causes the ventricles to widen, putting pressure on the brain’s tissues.” The symptoms can vary widely for each person. Infants with hydrocephalus include an unusually large head, vomiting, sleepiness, irritability, seizures, and eyes that are fixed downward.
