Abigail’s Magical Trip to Florida

Abigail, diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, enjoyed a family trip to the Central Florida theme parks where she was able to spend time in Disney to meet some of her favorite characters and visit Universal Studios. Abigail also enjoyed playing miniature golf and swimming at Sunshine Foundation’s Dream Village.

Thank you from Abigail’s Family

I really would love to thank Sunshine Foundation and the donors for everything that you have done for my daughter Abigail and my family. You have made one of my daughter’s dreams come true and she and the family had a beautiful time. Special thanks to Wanda and Mariah from the Dream Village.”Steven, Abigail’s father

Abigail’s Diagnosis

Abigail is legally blind due to a diagnosis of retinitis pigmentosa. Retinitis pigmentosa is a group of related eye disorders that cause progressive vision loss. These disorders affect the retina, which is the layer of light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye.

Sponsors

We are very grateful to Glory Days Grill, the All-Volunteer West Virginia Chapter of Sunshine Foundation, who held a Christmas bazaar, The Lord’s Church at Lake Henry, and generous donors from Adopt A Dream, who made Abigail’s dream come true!
