Annaly’s New iPad

Annaly, who was diagnosed with hemiplegic cerebral palsy and level 3 severe autism, loves using her new iPad and accessories! They’ve given her a fun way to explore her creativity and develop her communication skills. The technology has helped give Annaly more opportunities to express herself, make choices, learn, and engage with the people around her.

Thank You from Annaly’s Family

“This gift has truly meant so much to Annaly and our family. We cannot express how grateful we are for your generosity and kindness. Seeing her face light up when she received her new iPad was incredibly special.

We have already noticed a meaningful difference. The iPad has been helping Annaly regulate her emotions much more effectively. When she begins to feel overwhelmed or dysregulated, it has become a wonderful tool that helps her calm herself more quickly and smoothly. We are also seeing improvements in her communication, engagement, learning, and overall independence. It has quickly become an important part of her daily routine and has made a positive impact on her quality of life.

Thank you for giving our daughter such a thoughtful and life-changing gift. Your generosity has brought so much joy, comfort, and opportunity into her life, and we will always be grateful to the Sunshine Foundation and your amazing donors for making her dream come true.

Please extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone involved in making this possible.” – with sincere gratitude, Brenda, Annaly’s mom.

Annaly’s Diagnoses

Annaly is diagnosed with Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy, (also called spastic hemiplegia or unilateral CP) results from injury to the brain areas controlling movement on one side of the body. Because each hemisphere controls the opposite side, a left-brain injury causes right-sided hemiplegia and vice versa.
