Charles’ Bounce House and Water Slide

Meet Charles, a vibrant young boy living with 49,XXXXY syndrome—a rare chromosomal condition that can cause significant developmental challenges and low muscle tone. Despite these hurdles, Charles is thriving and having a blast with his brand-new Bounce House and Water Slide! Alongside his two siblings, he enjoys endless laughter, splashes, and playtime right in the comfort and safety of their backyard—making summer days cooler and full of fun.

Family Thank You

“The outdoor play set is helping Charles with his gross motor skills since he has issues climbing up and down stairs, and for balance and coordination skills. He plays in the bounce house a lot. Thank you.” – Charles’ mom.

Charles’ Diagnosis

Charles is diagnosed with 49,XXXXY syndrome, which is a rare chromosomal disorder affecting males, caused by three extra X chromosomes (49 chromosomes instead of 46).  Symptoms of 49,XXXXY syndrome may include: intellectual and developmental challenges, low muscle tone, physical traits such as widely spaced eyes, curved pinky fingers, flat feet, and dental abnormalities, growth delays, behavioral concerns, or congenital anomalies. This syndrome is not inherited but arises from a random error in cell division.
