Thank you from Damien’s Family

“Thank you so much for giving my grandson this opportunity to go to the theme parks. Damien loved riding the rides and enjoying all the character meet-and-greets. We are forever grateful to our sponsor and the Sunshine Foundation for allowing us to experience this wonderful dream to come to Florida.” – Damien’s grandmother

Damien’s Diagnosis

Type 1 diabetes is a condition where the body cannot make insulin because the immune system mistakenly attacks the cells in the pancreas that produce it. Since insulin helps move sugar from the bloodstream into the body’s cells for energy, people with Type 1 diabetes need to take insulin every day to stay healthy. With proper care, monitoring, and support, children and adults with Type 1 diabetes can live full, active, and joyful lives.
