Ilanna, with Down syndrome, received her dream of Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) Therapy! This therapy is not only aiding Ilanna in overcoming her mobility challenges and reaching her milestones but also equipping her parents with valuable insights for continued support and improvement.

“Thank you for the donation that your organization provided for our daughter, Ilanna. DMI worked with her on balance, walking, and deflection, which greatly impacted her mobility. Ilanna becomes fearful and regresses whenever she becomes uncomfortable performing a task or learning something that she deems difficult. DMI pushed Ilanna beyond her limits, and through many struggles and tears, the results were visible by the end of the sessions. Areas where she had struggled were no longer as much of a struggle.

For us, we gained insight into coaching, guiding, and pushing Ilanna using the approach that their teachers used within these sessions. DMI was able to provide us with a better approach to how we can continue working with Ilanna and achieving her milestones and the goals we have set for her to achieve. Ilanna’s Diagnosis

Ilanna is diagnosed with Down syndrome, a genetic disorder associated with physical growth delays, characteristic facial features, and mild to moderate developmental and intellectual disability.

Since 1976, Sunshine Foundation has spread Sunshine into the lives of more than 43,280 children.
