Jasir’s Disney and Legoland Adventure

Jasir, who is diagnosed with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss, embarked on a joyful adventure with his family to LEGOLAND and Disney World. Their days were filled with excitement as Jasir lit up at the vibrant parades, colorful characters, and interactive rides. LEGOLAND added even more fun with creative, hands‑on activities that sparked his curiosity. The trip wasn’t just about adventure—it was also a meaningful opportunity for the family to grow together.
Traveling with hearing loss sometimes means adapting to new surroundings, sounds, and communication needs. Through each moment, the family learned, supported one another, and celebrated every victory, big or small. By the end of the journey, they returned home with more than just souvenirs—they brought back stronger bonds, shared accomplishments, and memories that will stay with them forever.

Thank you from Jasir’s family

“I think this helped Jasir realize that he can do anything that hearing children can do. Because of his hearing loss, he can sometimes become overstimulated in large crowds, and he has trouble controlling his behaviors, but being around so many people helped him see that it’s possible for him to have fun and control his emotions and behaviors. This experience has helped me realize that we can journey outside our comfort levels. It’s sometimes overwhelming when Jasir has episodes, but this experience helped me see that as a family we can get through it and learn from any experience we have.”- Jasir’s mom

Jasir’s Diagnosis

Jasir is diagnosed with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Bilateral sensorineural (sen-suh-ree-NUR-uhl) hearing loss, also known as SNHL, occurs because of damage to your inner ear, and in Jasir’s case, to both ears. It can happen suddenly due to an illness, injury, or exposure to loud noise, like an explosion. Alternatively, SNHL can develop gradually over time as part of the aging process. And in some cases, people are born with it.  SNHL has a significant impact on your hearing ability.
