Jonathan’s New Swing Set

Jonathan, with low-functioning autism, wants to play on his new swing set continually! Jonathan is a sweet, affectionate, determined, and energetic 11-year-old boy. Despite the number of challenges educationally and medically that he continues to face, his smile and infectious laugh continue to instantly win over every person that he meets.

Family Thank You

“This dream has allowed Jonathan the opportunity to safely climb, slide, swing and play. Often at playgrounds, other children are bothered by Jonathan’s atypical behaviors. Jonathan now has a safe space to do all his favorite things freely! He can get exercise and fresh air and enjoy playing with his siblings. Jonathan’s favorite part of his dream is the swing. He never wants to get off! Thank you so much for making our son so happy. Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. Thank you again.” – The Mitchell Family.

Jonathan’s Diagnosis

Jonathan has been diagnosed with low-functioning autism. Autism Spectrum Disorder is defined by the CDC as “a developmental disability caused by differences in the brain.” Autism affects each person differently, and their ability to function can vary significantly. Low-functioning autism is a term used to define children and adults with the most severe form of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
