K’ai’s Dream: A Disney Cruise Adventure

K’ai, who lives with level 3 severe autism, is about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime—a Disney Cruise where he dreams of meeting Lightning McQueen from Cars.

His dream-come-true celebration was hosted on Sunshine Foundation’s 49th Anniversary by Urban Air Adventure Park in Springfield, PA, which generously donated the playtime. Sunshine Foundation President, Kate Sample, former dream recipient Chanecia, diagnosed with microdeletion and developmental delay, and dedicated volunteer Linda, from the ALL-VOLUNTEER Delaware County Chapter, were there to greet K’ai and make the day extra special.

K’ai’s mom shared, “My son Kai is a nonverbal child who’s on the spectrum. Kai enjoys going places and interacting with children. I would like to share the experience with him doing the things his peers are doing without being limited or excluded.”

Thanks to the Sunshine Foundation and its generous Adopt a Dream donors, K’ai’s dream is coming true!

6 ABC Action News Philadelphia was there to capture the magic.
