Social Media Volunteer Internship

Sunshine Foundation answers the dreams of children, ages three through eighteen, who have severe or profound physical/developmental/intellectual challenges or trauma from physical/sexual abuse, and whose families have limited income. We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Intern to join our team and help us share the inspiring stories of our children, events, fundraisers, and volunteers.

General Information:

Position: Volunteer Social Media Intern
Location: Sunshine Foundation, 101 Lakeside Park, Southampton, PA, 18966
Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays
Hours: 4-8 hours/week
Reports to: Technology and Volunteer Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Content Scheduling: Schedule and publish posts on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Content Creation: Design engaging social media graphics and create TikTok videos using Canva.
  • Storytelling: Share stories of children’s dreams (both completed and upcoming), events, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments and messages across all social media platforms.
  • Analytics: Track and report on social media performance metrics.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Development team to align social media content with overall marketing strategies.
  • Research: Stay updated on the latest social media trends and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Have an interest in or currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and willingness to learn Canva.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for design.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
