Danni’s Dream
Danni, who is diagnosed with level 3 severe autism, experienced a dream come true on a magical getaway to Bill Sample’s Sunshine Foundation Dream Village, Universal Orlando Resort, and LEGOLAND Florida. For Danni and her family, the trip provided more than just fun and adventure—it offered precious time away from therapies, appointments, and daily challenges, allowing them to simply enjoy being together and create memories they will cherish forever.

“This gift of a dream trip for our Danni was fulfilled, and we can’t even put into words how life-changing this has been for us, but I surely am going to try! Danni lives and is learning to live every single day with what we now know as Autism. This life has been challenging for her, and the resilience she shows is what keeps this family at peace. Danni has changed all of our lives, so it seemed fitting to find something that could give her time away from the testing, the therapies, the unanswered questions of where we are at developmentally. We just want to, simply be! Sunshine Foundation has completely checked off that box for us and then some.
The months of communication with them were always a pleasure; we already felt like family. The very first day of arrival, the Dream Village staff greeted us with open arms. Danni was so overwhelmed and filled with joy as soon as we laid eyes on our beautiful home away from home. The Dream Village is breathtaking and makes you feel like you are just not with the crazy world today.
We were invited to spend some time at Texas Roadhouse. Danni benefited and blossomed so much from one dinner. Her emotions and speech were beyond the moon for us!
We woke up to a beautiful Saturday morning, where we didn’t have any alarm clocks, and we went at our own pace to the parks! Danni accomplished her first big outing without any meltdowns. She did enjoy riding her very first rides, and she was actually sad to leave. This wasn’t about taking her to a big, well-known place and enjoying a weekend away; this was about humbling who we are and enjoying the family we have in this busy world. We did just that.

Danni’s Diagnoses
Danni is diagnosed with level 3 severe autism, which is the most severe form of autism, requiring the highest support needs on the autism spectrum. Individuals with level 3 severe autism face significant challenges with communication, social interactions, and repetitive behaviors that impact their daily lives and require substantial support throughout their lifetime.

Sunshine Foundation answers the dreams of children, ages three through eighteen, who have severe or profound physical/developmental/intellectual challenges or trauma from physical/sexual abuse, and whose families have limited income. Since 1976, Sunshine Foundation has spread Sunshine into the lives of more than 44,007 children.
