Jouri Magical Dream Village Stay
Jouri, who is diagnosed with
level 3 severe autism and epilepsy, was overjoyed when her dream was granted with a visit to the
Sunshine Foundation’s Dream Village. From the moment she arrived, the caring staff made her family feel welcomed and supported—especially Mariah, who quickly became a comforting new friend to Jouri. After settling into their cozy cottage, the adventure continued as Jouri visited both
Universal Studios and Disney World, where she lit up with excitement meeting her favorite characters and experiencing the rides. It was a trip filled with joy, connection, and unforgettable moments for her and her family.
Thank you from Jouri
“Thank you so much for giving me my dream. I love my pirate cottage; I love meeting all the friends at the resort (Dream Village had work groups). Meeting all the characters at Disney and Universal was amazing. I love Mikey and Minnie Mouse. I loved all the rides; they were so fast and exciting. Thank you for giving me a new friend, Mariah. She made me a friendship bracelet that I will love forever. Thank you, Sunshine Foundation, for choosing my family and me for this trip.”
Jouri’s Diagnosis
Jouri is diagnosed with level 3 severe autism. Level 3 autism, also known as severe autism, is the most significant level of autism spectrum disorder. Children with level 3 autism have limited or no speech, restricted social communication skills, and sensory processing issues. They require a higher level of support and supervision throughout their lifetime. Jouri is also diagnosed with epilepsy. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke defines epilepsy as a “chronic brain disorder in which groups of nerve cells, or neurons, in the brain, sometimes send the wrong signals and cause seizures.”
