Leah’s Perfect Week

Leah, a 12-year-old with microcephaly, global developmental delay, and cerebral palsy, experienced a dream come true during a magical trip to Universal Studios and Disney World and staying at the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village with her family. This special week allowed Leah and her family to create unforgettable memories, free from their usual routines and challenges.

Thank you from Leah’s Family

Leah’s mom expressed immense gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much for granting Leah’s dream. Leah had a magical time. Her favorite part of the dream was riding on the rides and meeting the characters. Having dinner at Texas Roadhouse and Palma Italian Kitchen was extra special. It was my first time experiencing restaurants, and Leah and our family enjoyed the meals and service. We are so appreciative of the Sunshine team for making sure our family was safe and going the extra mile for our family. To our sponsor, thank you for giving us this opportunity, and we are so appreciative; there are not enough words to describe how much this dream has meant to us. ”

Leah’s Diagnosis

Leah is diagnosed with microcephaly, global development delay, and cerebral palsy. Children with microcephaly are born with smaller-than-average heads. They may experience delays in speech and movement, have difficulties with coordination and balance, and exhibit hyperactivity.
