Emmanuel’s Pirate Adventure

Emmanuel, diagnosed with severe (level 3) autism, enjoyed a family trip to the Florida Theme Parks. He had a fabulous time visiting his favorite characters at Disney World and Universal Studios and relaxing in the Pirate Cottage at the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village.

Thank you from Emmanuel’s Family

“Thank you so much for choosing Manny to have his dream. Manny didn’t want to go home. He wanted to stay at the Dream Village; he enjoyed golfing and swimming, and he enjoyed his Pirate cottage. Manny and my whole family are so appreciative, and words can’t describe how thankful we are to spend time together and embrace the beautiful Florida scenery. In the parks, Manny enjoyed seeing his characters and riding on the rides. This dream trip was so much fun; we will cherish it forever! Thank you to everyone who made this trip happen for Manny.” – Emmanuel’s mother, Yaquelin

Emmanuel’s Diagnosis

Emmanuel has been diagnosed with severe level 3 autism. Autism Spectrum Disorder is defined by the CDC as “a developmental disability caused by differences in the brain.” Autism affects each person differently, and their ability to function can vary significantly. Low-functioning autism is a term used to define children and adults with the most severe form of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
