Josiah Meets Mickey Mouse
Josiah, with Septo-optic dysplasia, bilateral deafness, and severe level 3 autism, dreamed about meeting his favorite character, Mickey Mouse. During his dream trip to Disney World, he finally met Mickey, Minney, Goofy, and many other beloved characters.

Josiah’s Diagnosis
Josiah is diagnosed with Septo-optic dysplasia. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke defines Septo-optic dysplasia (SOD) as a rare disorder of the development of the thin membrane between the two halves of the brain, the eyes, and the pituitary gland. Some symptoms of SOD may include loss of eyesight in one or both eyes, low muscle tone, or development delays from eyesight or neurologic problems.
