Josiah Meets Mickey Mouse
Josiah, with Septo-optic dysplasia, bilateral deafness, and low-functioning level 3 autism, dreamed about meeting his favorite character, Mickey Mouse. During his dream trip to Disney World, he finally met Mickey, Minney, Goofy, and many other beloved characters.
Thank you from Josiah’s Family
“Josiah and my family had an amazing time for our first family trip. Josiah loved the 3D rides and the character meet and greets; it put a smile on his face.” – Josiah’s mother, Cassandra.
Josiah is diagnosed with Septo-optic dysplasia. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke defines Septo-optic dysplasia (SOD) as a rare disorder of the development of the thin membrane between the two halves of the brain, the eyes, and the pituitary gland. Some symptoms of SOD may include loss of eyesight in one or both eyes, low muscle tone, or development delays from eyesight or neurologic problems.
We thank the 2023 RunWalkBark4Dreams and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health for answering Josiah’s dream!
